Help us Make Prom Happen for students in Peel – Donate Today
Prom is more than just a dance, it’s a milestone that fosters confidence, connection, and lasting memories. Unfortunately, many students face financial barriers that prevent them from attending this special event. Making Prom Happen is dedicated to removing those barriers by providing free prom and graduation attire to students in need. Your support can make a life-changing difference.
Thank you all so much for your generous clothing donations!
The deadline for this year’s collection has now passed. We are only days away from our annual event and all of our drop-off locations are busy organizing their inventory.
If you would be willing to hold onto your donations until next year’s event, we would greatly appreciate it. Your support means a lot to us, and we look forward to working together again soon!

Donate with Dignity

Our goal is to make every student feel proud and confident on prom night. That starts with donations that reflect care and respect.
What Does Respectful Giving Mean?
Items should be new or gently used, clean, and in excellent condition.
Think about what a student would be excited to wear to prom—not what’s been sitting in your closet for decades.
We do not accept:
- Damaged, stained, or worn-out items
- Outdated suits (like “grandpa’s Sunday suit”)
- Casual summer dresses or work attire
If you’re not sure about your donation, please feel free to contact us with a description and picture.
What happens to donations?
We are deeply grateful for every donation we receive each year. To maintain transparency, here’s what happens when certain items don’t make it to our event:
First, every donated item is reviewed and sorted for inclusion in our annual promwear event.
Items that are not suitable for prom (e.g., outdated styles, casual or work attire) are redirected to local charities and community organizations that can use them.
Nothing goes to waste—our goal is to ensure every donation helps someone in need, even if it’s not at our event.
Condition Matters: Items that cannot be reused due to damage or excessive wear are responsibly recycled whenever possible.
